What Region Stockholm does

Our mandate

Region Stockholm is responsible for healthcare, public transport and regional development in Stockholm County 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also have a mandate to contribute to cultural life.

Healthcare

When you need medical aid or advice, our health services are always close to hand.

Public transport

Stockholm County's public transport shall offer extensive coverage, easy access and a sense of security.

Culture

We contribute to cultural experiences, local associations, sports and popular education for all stages of life and throughout the county.

Regional development

We are working to make life better for everyone who lives, works or spends time in Stockholm County.

Support, funding and awards

Region Stockholm offers support and funding in several different fields. The aim is to be proactive in the development of a sustainable region.

EU and international work

Region Stockholm's international efforts strengthen development and sustainable growth in the region. We are an active and dependable partner on the international stage. The goal is for Stockholm to become Europe's most attractive metropolitan region.

The Regional Archives

The Regional Archives govern and supervise information management within Region Stockholm. The main purpose is for county residents to be able to access information about themselves and how Region Stockholm's operations are run.
